Right as the leaves begin to fall off the trees, København Store are back with the second chapter of
“HI LOW YOU”, not any normal record but a trilogy. Just like Star Wars, without Darth Vader.
“HI” was the blurry snapshot of a recently-formed band, with a line-up that had found its footing during the long and successful tour for “Action, Please!” The live experience has played a crucial role in the writing and subsequent recording of that EP, which had focussed on reproducing the impact and sound of København Store\’s live show with immediate, direct songs, less reliant on the electronica and post-rock tinged sounds that had put the band on the map.

Recorded in near-complete autonomy, “LOW” signals a further change of direction for København Store, who revisit their roots in order to come up with an even more modern and personal take on their own sound. In a lot of ways, it sounds as though the band had to reach proper band form in order to be able to start playing with it again, switching assigned roles and tasks between members and turning into a closed/open collective.
A new entry is Cristiano Sanzeri (“LOW” \’s co-producer and the band\’s live sound technician), while Nicola Manzan and Angelo Maria Santisi (who have worked, among others, with Teatro degli Orrori, Non Voglio Che Clara and Baustelle) are once again in charge of orchestrations.

As a sign-off, the EP includes a re-elaboration of Stratford (already included in “HI”) done by B. Fleischmann. Another way of mixing things up while we wait for the final chapter, “YOU”.

\”LOW\” was recorded in Piacenza (IT) at the brand new fACTORY Studios (a sort of København Store headquarter) and mastered by Roger Siebel (Broken Social Scene, Tortoise, Pavement, Yo La Tengo and many others) at SAE studio in Phoenix (Arizona)
